We did a math challenge to start our day about faces of a 3D solid. We continued learning about probability. This afternoon we did another practise for EQAO. We had to write a paragraph. Using our personal dictionary is a good tool.
In language we learned about rhyming couplets & wrote one of our own. We learned about fair and unfair spinners in math. Tomorrow is our probability SWYK! Last block we finished up some math & other unfinished work. New Scholastic book orders are coming home - orders due Tues.
Tomorrow morning we will be going to the Church for our Community Mass! EQAO homework is due tomorrow. We played Battleship in gym & did a poetry reading comprehension in language. We finished our probability SWYK in math!
Our Mass at St. Isidore was wonderful! We corrected our EQAO homework. The last book for homework comes home today & is due next Friday. Zumba to end the day was great! Happy Mother's Day!
In language we wrote an announcement about Freezie Fridays (starting soon). In math we learned that mass is measured in grams and kilograms. There are 1000 grams in a kilogram. We reviewed character traits - we all have great traits and a few we need to work on.
In our liturgy today we learned that we are like the sheep that God (The Shepherd) will always take care of. In math we had our mass & capacity SWYK. Our next unit is location & movement! In language we wrote a paragraph about a place we like to visit.

In language we learned about explanatory writing; a hook catches the reader's attention. We had an EQAO math review. We also learned about procedural writing; it can be frustrating when instructions aren't clear. EQAO starts Monday; have a good sleep and eat a healthy breakfast!
We did 2 parts of EQAO this morning. Overall we felt the math was a little harder than the language but we felt we did great on both! We learned the purpose of a stem for a plant: to support, bring water & nutrients up from the roots & bring food from leaves to rest of plant.
Today we started with language & then completed the math EQAO. We are halfway & we are feeling good about our progress so far. In science we learned about leaves. Leaves get their colour from chlorophyll & can make their own food using photosynthesis!
We are 3/4 finished EQAO! Today, both sections were pretty long but we did our best! In science we learned about the flower part of a plant. The flower produces the seeds and sometimes fruit!
We finished the last sections of EQAO. We are Done! Some parts were tough but we can do hard things! In science we learned about seeds. Seeds need water, the right temperature and light to grow. Harry Potter Party will be June 13th - more info to come!
In science we reviewed our plant information. Tomorrow is our SWYK! We are also working on our independent plant project so we can learn from each other. We learned about concussions & how to prevent one from happening. We should ALWAYS wear a bike helmet when riding a bike.
We finished off our Reader's Theatre plays on the stage in the gym! We learned about allergies. If you use an epipen on a person having an anaphylactic reaction, they still need to go to the hospital. We completed our plant SWYK in science.
