Our SpeakWrite specialists, Dr. Laura Brady, Dr. Nathalie Singh-Corcoran, and Dr. Omar Yacoub, finished the last workshop in a series on writing instruction. The workshops were delivered to faculty members in the ECAS college at WVU. More posts on each workshop coming soon!

The first SpeakWrite faculty workshop was on Critical Reading. The workshop featured teaching tips to help students read critically, strategically, and collaboratively. Attendees left the workshop with several ideas to implement in their courses.

The second SpeakWrite faculty workshop focused on Giving Effective Feedback. The workshop provided several practices such as: 1- Comment banks. 2- Peer review. 3- Commenting as a Class. Such PACT-guided practices were rewarding to our attendees.

The third SpeakWrite faculty workshop featured strategies for Designing Meaningful Writing Assignments. Scaffolding, Transfer, Bloom's Taxonomy, and other practices were thoroughly provided and discussed in the workshop for immediate implementation for course design.
