This book changed the direction of my life in 1988 when it was first published. I had already built expert systems based on Neural Networks, but I did not fully understand the power of what I could create until Jeannette Lawrence published this book. Thank you, Jeannette.

The very inventor of the term “vibe coding”, hand-coding. And confirming — yet again - that current AI has NOT solved distribution shift (the core problem that I have been harping on since 1998).

In order to harness the strengths of AI the tech sector "should stop focusing so heavily on these one-size-fits-all tools, and instead concentrate on narrow, specialized A.I. tools engineered for particular problems" Stop the wasteful general purpose craze nytimes.com/2025/10/16/opi…

Git was never supposed to exist - 2005: The Linux kernel was using BitKeeper (a proprietary software). The company revoked free access. Linus had thousands of developers and no version control. He was furious. Took 2 weeks off and built Git from scratch. Now Git runs 97% of

This is the sleeping time bomb with the current AI bubble. All of that money being spent on capex right now is going to depreciate quickly as 2nm chips and other innovations keep coming. And god forbid anyone figure out new more efficient approaches.

A lot of people think Casey is joking about CSS being harder than ASM. No, it's actually unironically true. Web spec is way more complex than any mainstream ISA you might ever need. If you've mastered the dark corners of flexbox and grid, if you know subtle differences in how

Our Victor CLI tool is a play on words for the idea that Hugo templates should be fair game from bringing into this principled #fsharp web framework. #WebDevelopment Cloudflare Cloudflare Love speakez.tech/blog/victor-cl…

We're excited about a Cloudflare "native" edge compute story for #fsharp. We've put together a proposal for some work we have in the lab, and hope to it roll out through the end of the year. #WebDevelopment Cloudflare Love #distributedcloudcomputing speakez.tech/blog/spec-stac…

My sense is that structured concurrency is the biggest win in software development in at least 50 years, and it’s not an accident that the best way to implement structured concurrency is functionally, because in functional programming, you almost always have errors as values, and

It needs to be OK to be high-level as long as it's not mistaken for being something else. Everyone has a *start point* and we shouldn't gatekeep at the entryway over arbitrary technical trivia. But also, crucially, don't mistake script flogging with real computer science. 🫤
