I just had to try Grok Imagine on some iconic NASA Apollo images. This is the animated version of the beautiful image of Apollo 17 commander Gene Cernan, after completing the last lunar EVA in December 1972. Amazing.

This blue flexible pressurized inner layer of the Apollo A7L space suit provides an interesting inside view of the connections and strings used to accommodate varying arm and leg lengths. This suit was custom-fit to Fred Haise for his Apollo 13 mission. ๐Ÿ“ท: me at Stennis Infinity

This summer vacation unfortunately no planned visits to space flight places and museums. However it's always nice to find space references in unexpected places. This is an old tree stump in Sauerland, Germany where several annual rings (1880-2020) have been highlighted with

Some other accidental discoveries of space items during our vacation in Germany. We visited the Film Museum in Dรผsseldorf and they have several authentic Star Trek items like this model of the USS Enterprise and a phaser that were used in the TV series.

Found this (well my kids found it) in a German supermarket, freeze dried gummy bears. Funny to see that the Space Shuttle is still used everywhere to illustrate something related to space, while the last flight was already 14 years ago.

Wow, Tom Hanks shared such a beautiful story about his night flight with Jim Lovell. Jim Lovell placed a card-board cutout the same size of the window of the Apollo 13 lunar module over Tom Hanks' side of the cockpit and let him look for the same stars that helped navigate Apollo

Watching the SpaceX, Everyday Astronaut and NSF - NASASpaceflight.com livestreams streams of the Starship Flight 10. The Booster splashed down. So far the Ship is looking good, including payload deployment! Incredible views! Image from SpaceX livestream.

Today I received the Gemini and Mercury Remastered book. Also today I started my first print on my new resin 3D printer. I chose a model of a Gemini astronaut with Astronaut Manouvering Unit (AMU). Model by Max Grueter. This built-in timelapse is a nice feature of this printer!

Thanks to the heads-up of Dr Marco Langbroek, I was just in time to capture the Space Force Boeing X-37B spacecraft that flew over the Netherlands this evening at 20.59. I only had a few minutes, so I quickly took some pictures with my telephone camera.
