since the algorithm is currently favoring my tweets, I’d like to remind everyone that TECHNICALLY the US has 2 abandoned space stations. Bigelow launched 2 experimental space habitats (Genesis I & II) in 2006 and 7 that are still in orbit today but are inoperable.

I’m struck by how rare discoveries, imagery, and understanding like this may become as we (the US leadership) propose to gut the funding by 66% for NASA Heliophysics as a whole, and reduce funding for incredible missions in extended ops like Parker Solar Probe.

Anything is possible, but Lockheed previously disclosed its work on a turbine-based combined cycle engine was with Aerojet Rocketdyne. BUT, GE Aerospace has been working on integrating Rotating Detonation Combustion into its dual-mode ramjet design... which could make a TBCC

SpaceX doing the crazy thing that used to only be possible in renders and photoshopped images! Also, there's something about the contrast between the industrial factory with next gen rockets and the surrounding untouched environment that is always so neat and vibrant in images.

We lost Jim Lovell. Mission Commander of #Apollo13. 😢 It’s hit me a bit harder than I expected. I knew Jim for 17 years since I went to work for Buzz Aldrin. Jim and Buzz had a competitive but friendly relationship. They flew to space together for the first time on #Gemini12
