In the three decades of the ‘free market economy’ in Uganda, private sector credit as a percentage of GDP has remained between 12-14%. Tax to GDP, too, in that range. I don’t know what explains it but perhaps let’s allow seasoned economists to give us an answer first

Another interesting number; Less than 10% of Uganda’s private sector companies have operated for more than 20 years Source: UMA report, 2019

Britain served them a lesson on humility & living within their means. Russia fed their hubris - an exaggerated sense of importance & grandiosity detached from their countries’ everyday realities… not different from our chiefs of old exchanging their people for mirrors & linen

Despite the winter season and the time difference( it was bed time). I had to beat all odds to show up and effectively execute my duties as an adjudicator for #USDCL23 . It makes me happy to see my efforts being recognized and appreciated. National Debate Council, Uganda (NDC) Festo Kato

ON Manchester United A small thread 🧵 Dear Reds, tonight promises to be either worst night or best night of the year. I've surrendered my everything to the team I chose when I was 6 to either end my life or make me the happiest man on earth. 1/2

Disclaimer , It doesn't matter how close you think you're to me, if Utd loses don't text me, don't call me, don't tag me in anything because I may block you. But if we win, doesn't matter how distant you are, please congratulate me in all ways possible. (Cymon Luswata) 🙏 2/2
