➕➖Whole School ➗🟰 Intent: Character, creativity and challenge As part of our Maths Week England celebrations, we enjoyed swapping classes today and playing some great maths games with other year groups. We loved playing strategically to win!

🌟Nursery🌟 Intent: Challenge This week, we have started our ‘Squiggle Whilst You Wiggle’ sessions. We danced along to the music, then transferred these movements to floor level and swapped our ‘flappers’ for wax crayons to make marks on paper.

🌟 Reception 🌟 Intent: Challenge, Creativity, Character and Culture Reception have loved investigating and playing outside in our current chilly weather this week! 🥶Lots of super creativity and exploration ❄️

Intent: Creativity Year 3 loved experimenting with different watercolour techniques as part of our #takeonepicture art project

Year 2 Intent: Challenge and Creativity We have begun an exciting new DT project! We started by exploring what makes a structure stable, linking to our Maths work on 3D shapes! We carried out an investigation into the best base for a chair structure. Great skills Y2!

Year 2 🎵🎵 Intent: Culture and Creativity We are really enjoying our music lessons where we are learning to play the glockenspiel! We have experimented with different notes and rhythms and sound fantastic!

🌟 Reception 🌟 Intent: Challenge, Creativity, Character and Culture Reception have begun our Talk for Writing work on Stickman this week. We have been describing the main characters, writing phrases and showing our super creativity 🎨

🌟Nursery🌟 Intent: Challenge & Character We held a lovely Stay and Play session today with our families. The children loved playing with their grown ups and showing them their new skills in our phonics session. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us.

🐑🐺 EYFS 🐺🐑 Intent: Challenge, Creativity, Character and Culture Our Nursery and Reception children loved visiting the Northern Stage today to see Wolf! We loved watching the story and joining in with the songs and dancing 🎶

🎄Year 4 🎄 Year 4 had great fun yesterday celebrating our Christmas party with some lovely games, music and party food . We’re definitely feeling festive now! ☃️

🖼️Year 4🖼️ Intent: Creative, Character, Challenge & Culture. For our Take One Picture project , Year 4 enjoyed using a green screen app to recreate the painting at different points in history. Their finished pieces looked amazing! ⭐️

🎅🏻EYFS🎅🏻 Intent: Culture Today, our Nursery and Reception classes had a wonderful visit to ‘Storytime with Santa’ at Gosforth Civic Theatre. We loved sitting by the fire and listening to stories read to us by Santa and Mrs Claus. What a lovely end to our term! 🥰

Year 2 🎨 Intent: Creativity We have begun our new Art topic in Year 2 by experimenting with charcoals. Great skills Y2!

Creativity: Year 1 loved exploring colour mixing to create secondary colours for their new topic in Art!

Year 4 Intent: Culture, character & challenge Year 4 have been exploring ideas and questions about King Midas and The Golden Touch through reciprocal reading and drama. We love the story but we’ve yet to decide if all that glitters is gold! ✨🤔

🌟Nursery🌟 Intent: Character Happy New Year! We have loved being back with our friends in Nursery this week and have settled back into our daily routines. We are looking forward to another half term of fun as we play and learn together. 🥰

🌟 Reception 🌟 Intent: Challenge, Creativity, Character and Culture Reception have had a super first week back together. We have made animal homes, written some fabulous lists, painted and mixed colours and absolutely loved exploring the ice outside 💫

Year 1 Intent: Character Year 1 have been thinking hard about why we need rules and what rules are important to us to make sure that everyone’s rights are respected.
