Our team of ecologists, land managers and volunteers are very busy running surveys on Mt Gibson. We recently collected several cameras from this remote understudied peak. And we're very excited to see what pops up, so stay tuned!

We simply must deal with feral horses in the Australian Alpine region! The Threatened Species Scientific Committee said that horses were destroying the alpine and could lead to the extinction of 12 species; 3 frogs, 4 fish, 4 reptiles and 1 mammal. canberratimes.com.au/story/8188700/…

Mt Gibson camera traps are being processed as we speak. We placed them throughout the reserve, focusing on areas that would be hot spots for a range of cryptic critters.

This July, a team of ecologists will be dropped into the Lost World and then traverse 6-7km through rugged terrain up to Mt Amy. To our knowledge, this peak has never been surveyed before. It sits at 850m and is covered in Palm Forest and Wet Eucalyptus Forest.

Alex Pike from NSW #SaveOurSpecies continues to document Booroolong Frog (#Litoria booroolongensis). These several hundred frogs were released into a remote stream in the New England Tablelands. This species is almost entirely extinct in the northern reaches of its distribution

The spiny knob-tailed gecko (Nephrurus asper) is a fierce but tiny predator found in rocky outcrops and woodlands of Queensland, Australia. These geckos are found in a range of colours and patterns from deep reds to banded individuals!

Very few Australian #mammals are active during daylight hours. One of the few that you'll see our foraging during the day, is the #MuskyRatKangaroo. These can be seen in our #AthertonTableland reserves, and we're hoping that live in Mt Gibson, north of Mt Windsor #NationalPark.

The cameras are rolling in and the photos are starting to unveil what Mt Gibson has to offer (apart from amazing views). This threatened Northern Quoll is having a good old sniff We have multiple reserves which protect quolls and we're very happy to add Mt Gibson to the list.

The Normanby River Boulderfields are full of beautiful spring fed streams. This was todays stream as we put out bat recorders and camera traps. Some poor souls will have to suffer this terrible place for a few days when we pull them out. #boulderfieldsbioblitz

A large, wise, old Carpet Python was found one afternoon during the #boulderfieldbioblitz This lovely beast was escorted off the road and is likely looking for an agile wallaby to snack on.

Two weeks ago we were fighting a massive fire on our Kings Plains reserve on Cape York. Today the ground floor of our homestead is about to go under in biblical flood left by Cyclone Jasper. Our climate has always had extremes, but they seem to be getting worse. Climate change
