NEW Were people mixing human remains in the past? Analysis of a burial in a Roman-period cemetery found the majority of the bones, arranged like one person, were from multiple individuals, the majority dating to the Neolithic! Find out why 🆓 buff.ly/4hbexVz

Never thought I’d find tiny animal bones so interesting, any reading recommendations on microfauna and environment/climate?

Happy #Halloween! Here's some skeletal archaeology to celebrate: At Neolithic Dingsishan 🇨🇳 people cut up bodies before burial. Was this some kind of ritual? New research suggests there was a more pragmatic reason: to save space in graves! (£) buff.ly/3Nz0pb1

A rare Roman knife handle depicting a gladiator has been discovered at Corbridge Roman Town on Hadrian’s Wall. ⚔ The handle provides new proof that gladiators’ celebrity status reached the very edge of the Empire. #GladiatorII

bbc.com/news/articles/… Pretty big news, yes, but to clarify, this is NOT "the first pharaoh's tomb discovered in Egypt since Tutankhamun's." It is, though, the first such royal tomb to be discovered in the vicinity of the Valley of the Kings since Carter discovered Tut’s tomb.
