If you’re a S&C coach attempting to take credit for a team’s lack of non-contact MSK injuries, then you also must we willing to accept the blame when they do occur. #twowaystreet

It’s always interesting seeing people’s responses when they find out I’m atheist. Especially coaching in sport in the US. Being christian is very routinely accepted to a point where it usually feels like an expectation in the field.

Early on in my career I would make sure to never speak about it as it comes with a certain stigma for sure. It was something I could hide pretty easy so I did. As I got a little older I stopped caring completely and have no problem being open about it to whomever 🤷🏽‍♂️

Reading a lot here about how we help college athletes. The conversation is great, and providing more resources for these athletes is a great step. But we’re missing the forest for the trees. The problem isn’t resources. The problem is the system.

Football and S&C have been very good to me. So I I want to pay that foward. Click the link to gain access to an entire year of our lifting. The only cost I will ever ask of you, is a retweet and to find a way to pay it foward to someone else today. drive.google.com/file/d/1I0VXVl…

“The minimal program, pure in coaching and training design usually removes unnecessary noise. When you see a lot of excessive drills or exercise variants without purpose, it’s to camouflage the errors. Minimalism in design is an act of bravery, as you can’t hide your errors…”

Army’s Eric Huss suffered a potentially catastrophic injury Thursday vs Sacred Heart taking a skate blade to the neck. Army trainer, Rachel Leahy, jumped on the ice and calmly helped control/stop the bleeding. Another medical hero. Huss is out of surgery and is stable now.

A random dude found his way into our covered mounds while Scherzer and Wacha threw side-by-side bullpens this week. He used the opportunity to tell me that "they should be in baseball pants because that's what they wear in games." Be careful selling out for specificity, folks.

HS S&C coach A- “I’m not going to have my HS kids back squat.” B- “ I’m not going to have my kids DL.” C-“I’m not going to have my kids clean.” Athlete's-“ Thats fine but I’m still gonna do all that stuff at the Y on my own then.” As a HS S&C...teach them everything.
