Has the sunny weather got you thinking of camping trips? 😎Don't forget, gas canisters start fires! Please do not put in with your recycling or rubbish collections. When empty, gas canisters should be taken to your local recycling site: somerset.gov.uk/bins-recycling…

Finished with your vape? Don’t throw it in the bin, they are full of harmful chemicals! If you've finished with your vape, bag it up separately. And leave on top of your recycling boxes. Vapes can also be taken to a recycling site or returned to the shop you bought them from.

Recycle your cartons! Don't forget cartons can be recycled with your weekly collections. Just flatten & add to your green box! Last year we recycled 110 tonnes of cartons, which were reprocessed in the UK & broken down to paper, plastic and aluminium, & used to make new products!

☕️Heading out for a weekend coffee? Say no to throwaway cups, and take a reusable one with you! Single-use cups often have plastic lids or film lining. Approximately 2.5 billion coffee cups are thrown away every year in the UK, and less than 1 in 400 are recycled.

😱18% of the apples we buy are wasted! Go back to the OG way of shopping and pick up your fruit and veg loose. It reduces the amount of food that ends up in the bin and means that you can choose exactly what you want. #LoveFoodHateWaste

Coffee cups and other takeaway cups can't be recycled from home - even if they say they can be composted. ❌please don't put in the food waste or the black box with cardboard. ✅However many high street stores can accept them for specialist recycling.

Electricals don't belong in the bin - #RecycleYourElectricals! If it no longer works and has a plug, charger or battery, recycle it! Small items can be recycled with your kerbside collection. Please just put them in a small carrier bag, if it's larger - take to a recycling site.
