This is a real issue that should get more attention from ACLRollingReview Most junior faculty are working with students submitting their papers for the first time. I am forced to be a reviewer for 4 submitted papers and maybe an AC as well. It’s even worse in non-conf cycles!

A bit of a mess around the conflict of COLM with the ARR (and to lesser degree ICML) reviews release. We feel this is creating a lot of pressure and uncertainty. So, we are pushing our deadlines: Abstracts due March 22 AoE (+48hr) Full papers due March 28 AoE (+24hr) Plz RT 🙏

Oh dear! I used to ask this question everyday before moving to US for PhD 3 yrs after graduating. At least then, there were random people from random stacks/reddits answering these from their POVs.... And now we have ChatGPT pretending to have all the answers!

#ACL2025 We had a paper with 3 where MR had indicated zero weaknesses. Agreed that "it received universal recommendations to be accepted into the findings. The ACs do not find sufficient justification to overturn this recommendation." Rejected! Was the MR ignored then? #NLProc

Finally the #ACL2025 MR is released. And thanks to the Area Chair 8Lox for locking us in a conundrum with a blank metareview. Just to be clear, this was an MS-student and undergrad student led three-authored paper!
