This man knew nothing of Latter-day Saint prophet Joseph Smith, having never heard of him or seen him. While speaking with missionaries one day, they showed him a picture of Joseph. He immediately recognized him as the man who had appeared in a recent dream and saved his life.

I’m so proud to see my 7yo really get into the world of the Book of Mormon. He explained back to me perfectly the lessons from mosiah about good & bad kings, slavery, patience, trust, deliverance, etc. this is powerful spiritual and moral formation for his whole life.

This is a great example of how a spiritual witness works. When I heard this I felt the truth and power of it just like reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. It’s spirituality 101- this is how you can know your beliefs are true.

Since most people don’t know much about Latter Day Saints, it can be effective to counter false narratives about us with very simple statements ie “Jesus Christ is in the name of our church” or “we believe the Bible”. Antis just giving us an opening to share our beliefs 😊

There are two ways to deal with challenging interpretations of scripture: 1. Reject if it doesn’t jibe with my morality or what I gather from other scripture 2. Accept things that are challenging because who am I to tell God what he can do

“Revelation was complete with the apostles” Said no apostle ever This wasn’t even commonly believed by the church until hundreds of years after Christ when they realized God wasn’t revealing anything new to them
