So sorry to hear about decimation of Goldsmiths, University of London, so many of the good people who have tried to make it relevant to local community made redundant or already left in disgust. Time to take back the town hall, the old baths, the housing and all they've taken from News Cross?
Following the news abt the decimation of Sociology, Goldsmiths, as a subject community we need to remember the other places where the devastation of sociology and cognate disciplines has taken place or is in train and what this means for our colleagues
I was only at Sociology, Goldsmiths for 2 years but intellectually, creatively, it was like going home. It was somewhere really fucking special and the colleagues I had there continue to inspire me. It is inconceivable any have been made redundant. I'm gutted for every single person and

The scale, cruelty and human devastation created by the cuts in Sociology, Goldsmiths reflect an attack on the very values that have made Goldsmiths a creative and critical institution with a global reputation. Council has a moral responsibility to intervene - if not now, when?
