For those asking. Cold water immersion is not a good way to lose weight. Yes, if you sit still metabolic rate goes up with shivering, but a walk would be much less uncomfortable and burn more calories. If you swim in cold, shivering is suppressed at low levels of exercise.

Hi Met Office , the Eryri mountain forecast have had some interesting freezing level and temp at altitude data recently, but please can you explain why the forecast temp at 900mASL is zero when the freezing level is 1200-1900m?

Found these tracks at 980m on the Carneddau, Eryri. The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust any idea what they are? Initial thought fox cub, but was thinking maybe Mink, as they have been in Ogwen Valley for years #carneddau #animaltracks
