Hot off the press! We comparatively evaluated venom composition and biochemical activity, morbidity- (haemorrhage, necrosis, nephrotoxicity) and toxicity-inflicting potentials of Russell's viper from India and Palestine viper from Israel. tinyurl.com/287su6e9 Evolutionary Venomics Lab

64,000+ annual deaths from snakebites in India!! How do we manage to turn a blind eye to a socioeconomic disease of this magnitude?

#Snakebites in the #Northeastern India are more neglected than rest of the country. With 15+ venomous #snakes living alongside of 50 million people, there is NO #ANTIVENOM ideal for the region. Learn more about the problem through our film 👉vimeo.com/740989492/b105…

The more time I invest into understanding the problem of #snakebite the more I'm realising I know very little. The problem is very diverse with its roots embedded into the institutional gaps. This highlights the need for preventive measures which are often underfunded.
