We had our final House Eucharist of the year yesterday! Müller House-all year 7. We reflected on seasons and that this time last year all year 7 were in year 6 about to do their SATs! We learnt about our partner school in Uganda. It was a great service, lots of spirituality.

Former student Brad Burrowes won the FA Youth Cup with Aston Villa this weekend, beating Manchester City 3-1 in front of 25,000 at Villa Park. It was a great day with lots of current and past students present. He is pictured here with Mr White, Mr Penrose and Mr Hare.🏆👏

On Wednesday we hosted Mr Dave Cohen. He is a BAFTA Award winner, most famous for writing many of the songs in the BBC TV series, Horrible Histories. He spoke to year 7 about songwriting, his career and even got them all to sing along! It was a lot of fun for staff and students!

Year 11 had their ‘shirt-signing’ afternoon on Thursday. Although they are still onsite every day until the end of term, we know that we will miss them once their exams finish! Lots of mixed emotions for all!

On Monday and Tuesday all year 7 and 8 had a presentation about Fairtrade. We had a visiting speaker (Rosibel) from Nicaragua who spoke about her life as a coffee farmer and how she lives and works. We were challenged to ensure we look for the Fairtrade logo when buying food.

On Wednesday night we held our ‘Community Prayer Night’. We prayed for all the new year 7 students who will be joining us in September. We also prayed for all year 11 and year 13 students sitting exams. Thank you for praying for our students we know it makes a difference.

The amazing Year 7 and 8 students at SMRT have got the school's best ever results in the Junior Maths Challenge! A whopping 85 students achieved a Gold, Silver or Bronze, including 16 Golds, with 6 students through to the next round! We wish each of them all the best.

We had our whole school Pentecost Service last week. A real celebration of our global diversity. We said the Lords Prayer in French and all students from year 7 to year 10 participated in the Eucharist. Thank you to Canon Dan Tyndall for his sermon at his last service with us.
