The first chapter of my MS thesis on Lasius emarginatus in NYC can be read in preprint now! I lot of hard work and collaboration went into this paper. We still have review to get through but I’m proud of how far it’s come! researchsquare.com/article/rs-369…

The ManhattAnt first turned up in New York City back in 2011. 🐜🗽 Now, thanks to the work of researchers like our PhD student Samantha Kennett, we are learning more about how these tiny ants survive in the big city. Samantha Kennett | Dr. David Coyle npr.org/2024/08/14/g-s…

To quote Jeff Goldblum, "life, uh, finds a way"...even in the middle of New York City. Check out Samantha Kennett (she's in our lab now!) in this great piece by Taylor Nicioli about the #invasivespecies "ManhattAnt" (not an official common name, btw). cnn.com/2024/08/23/sci…

In light of this recent title change, I’ve thought a lot about how I got here, and more broadly, how to succeed in #academia. Yeah, you gotta get $ and be a good/prolific writer. But you also HAVE to surround yourself with awesome people. And the Coyle Lab group is awesome.

Visualizing Science! I'm holding a series of free, online workshops, thanks to Johns Hopkins University. All are welcome! I plan to have fun with Danielle VanBrabant, Damond Kyllo, and Amey Zhang to introduce visualization topics and challenges. No art experience is necessary.
