The assessment & planning stage of each #restoration is essential. Reference photos are taken of each clock's condition prior to work being done. These, along with measurements and notes detailing specific problems then serve as crucial reference points as the process develops.

Clockmaker, scientist & Lunar Society member #JohnWhitehurst shaped both horology & history from his Derby workshop. He even hosted Benjamin Franklin. It was as an apprentice to the 3rd Whitehurst that John Smith honed his craft before establishing Smith of Derby in #1856.
