In policy debate, Pace/Leonard and Home/Terreros hit in the octofinals. As the higher seed, PL will walk over HT and advance to quarterfinals. In duo, Hendrickson/King advance to quarterfinals!

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in policy debate!!! Sophie Leonard and Lucy Pace won the final round on a 5-0! They had a great round against SMS Speech & Debate! SME also won a school of excellence award in debate. I’m so proud of these two and this driven, talented group of kids! SME Lancers

Lucy/Sophie and Jaxson/Ishaan advance to round 9 (top 33) of policy, Eliza advances to round 9/ quarterfinals (top) 30 of informative and Jamie Wilborn breaks in BQD!

PL and HT both win their debates and advance to round 10 (top 24)!

Eliza King breaks to semifinals of Informative at NSDA!

Both policy teams clear to round 11 (Top 15)!

PL and HT both win round 11 and advance to round 12 (top 9)!

Lucy and Sophie end their run in round 12. Huge congrats to these two seniors on an an outstanding tournament and an even more phenomenal career!

Jaxson and Ishaan lost round 12 but are still in the tournament and will debate in the top 6 tomorrow morning!

Jaxson and Ishaan win round 13! Only 3 teams remain. They will debate BVN for a spot in finals!

Jaxson and Ishaan lose on a close 3-2 decision to BVN and place 3rd! So proud of these two!

This was our largest entry at NSDA nationals and our most successful! I’m so proud of our kids for their hard work, and more importantly, for handling some scary situations with bravery and maturity!
