Despite Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council's claims to accommodate GAA, 2024 full-pitch booking numbers at 'shared facilities' (V36, Allen Park, Crumlin) tell a different story. GAA clubs tried to secure consistent bookings on adequate space, but were locked out.

The Mallusk development highlights the value of empowering local clubs but it’s just one part of a broader multi-pitch solution needed in North Belfast. More action and support are essential, and the County Board should back such forums to fully address clubs' and members' needs.

An Orange Lodge, which bans members from Catholic funerals, opposes the introduction of the GAA in Comber for lack of ‘inclusion’. Incredible.

A recent FOI has shown that in 10 years there hasn’t been a single motion or proposal for GAA pitches brought forward at ANBC. This needs an immediate political response.
