Did you catch the pink water near the SM Pier this week? Researchers from the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, in partnership with the Bay Foundation and the city of Santa Monica, released a nontoxic pink water tracer dye to study ocean circulation around the Pier.

An Ocean Water Quality Rain Advisory has been declared for all Los Angeles County beaches. The advisory will be in effect at least until 11:00am, Sunday, September 21, 2025. This advisory may be extended depending on further rainfall. For more info: bit.ly/4grEakO
