My favorite 103-year-old passed away today. Her biggest advice was to be kind to everyone, even when they don’t deserve it. And to start and end every day with an oatmeal raisin cookie. So go shopping for cookies today and be nice to everyone you meet ❤️

APP’s are such an integral part of the PALTC setting. We really should be focusing on their roles more. I would fall apart without my NP’s!

“It’s my first day and I’m not sure if I should consult you on this.” I’m always glad when new residents contact me. Your attendings are here to help you. Remember that every one of us was once in your shoes. Medicine is a team sport. Welcome to the team.

Medical Twitter friends, any tips on how to get Medicare to cover a GLP-1 for my non-diabetic patients for weight loss? Or any prescription drug assistance tips? Battling the obesity, chronic pain, decline in function circle and the insurance companies won’t budge.

I wish I could have all my hospitalist colleagues come to the nursing home with me for one day. I really believe that one day could improve understanding of the environment and improve transitions of care. Seriously, if any of you all want to come visit, I’m ready!

I didn’t take a lot of photos from #PALTC24. I was caught up with connecting with old friends, making new friends and learning a ton. I’m so grateful for another fantastic year in my professional home. The best people all supporting the best cause. Can’t wait for next year!
