I remember post 9/11, people very slightly older than me (I'm arse-end of GenX, cusp of Millennial) mocking younger people for feeling a bit nihilistic/doomer about what would happen with invading Afghanistan and Iraq. Shit has been a bit wonky for as long as I can remember...
