#ERCOT is showing a larger supply-demand deficit than on Monday—but no communications at all yet this morning. About 2.7GW more gas/coal is projected to be offline today than on Monday, while wind & solar are at similar levels to Monday. #txlege #txenergy #energytwitter 1/

My thoughts on what #Austin needs from its next #Water Director. #climatechange #drought #growth are conspiring against our most basic service which has failed us time and again over the last decade. Spencer Cronk please restart your search. statesman.com/story/opinion/…

Hi, why aren't we talking about this? We are in a severe drought and I still see Austinites watering their lawns at noon. Graph courtesy Austin Water

I've been surprised how the wider world sees water shortage as the primary risk to oilfield sustainability in Texas. Water disposal is a far greater challenge - and the solution, a potential boon for water supplies. currentargus.com/story/news/202…

So proud to have Texas Water Trade's work to buy water for coastal habitats featured by Scripps Institution of Oceanography. See our Dir. of Conservation Finance talk about why we're meeting the needs of oysters and other coastal resources by "going to the water store." thedenverchannel.com/news/national/…

This is a triop — a small, three-eyed crustacean. Following a torrential summer downpour in northern Arizona in October 2021, hundreds of bizarre, prehistoric-looking critters emerged from tiny eggs, that can stay dormant for decades, waiting for water: buff.ly/3lbDzso

Brazilian priest Juan Pablo takes abandoned dogs off the streets, and feeds and bathes them. Then he introduces a dog to each Mass and to find each one a home. 🤍 Dozens of stray dogs have families because of this man. We hope this idea catches on. 💚 God bless you father 😍😍

And still nobody seems to be noticing we're in the most severe drought in a decade, closely mirroring the most severe drought in modern history...

Glad to hear Railroad Commissioner Jim Wright say he's concerned about shifting produced water disposal to shallow aquifers in response to seismicity. Shallow disposal of untreated produced water is not the answer. Texas Water Trade @PW_Society

"I believe that treatment and disposal of produced water may be the most consequential question for our state's energy industry." --Railroad Commissioner Jim Wright. I agree and agree as he said that if Texas doesn't solve the problem, federal intervention will follow.
