On September 3, 1927, Officer Rollin R. Tanner made his rounds through the Liberty Park Zoo. As he did many times before, he reached into the lion enclosure to pet them. The lions attacked Tanner and bit him. Infection set in. He died on Sept. 10th. #SLCPD #SLC #SaltLakeCity
