Today, we remember Officer Blaine Baxter, who was killed in a motorcycle crash 90 years ago while attempting to stop a speeding vehicle. Officer Baxter had been serving our community for six months and was survived by his wife and son. #SaltLakeCity #SLC #SLCPD

On September 3, 1927, Officer Rollin R. Tanner made his rounds through the Liberty Park Zoo. As he did many times before, he reached into the lion enclosure to pet them. The lions attacked Tanner and bit him. Infection set in. He died on Sept. 10th. #SLCPD #SLC #SaltLakeCity
