I miss when cartoons looked more ..flat? like this

It's weird to think the current youth grew up on "Retro Flat" without knowing it was a throwback, saw it gradually disappear & now there's an extra layer of esoteric retro to it

This is actually a really good point that gets lost in Beanmouth discourse. American animation was not in a good place by the end of the aughts - most shows had been ignorantly copying the Dexter & PPG "style" for almost 15 years by that point to diminishing returns

Do animation artists study real human beings anymore

I rather not jump to the conclusion that Checkered Past is gone forever, at least from [adult swim]; Warner Bros. Discovery's recent split-up of departments probably led to some temporary schedule experiments for ratings, but ACME Night's been off the lineup for 6 months now...
