Enough with the cognitive dissonance. The wildfire that destroyed Lytton, B.C., could happen anywhere | John Valliant theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…

As wildfire season heats up in the West, active people wonder when and how to safely exercise when the air quality is poor. This excellent podcast is aimed at cyclists but relevant for all outdoor exercisers. UBC School of Kinesiology UBC Department of Family Practice Allan McGavin Sports @UBCmedicine

Every map prioritizes some data and leaves out other information. Indigenous knowledge, in particular, has been neglected and even intentionally ignored by western mapmakers, who have often used their maps to disenfranchise and colonize tribes. outsideonline.com/outdoor-advent…

I just googled “Canada’s most decorated Olympian” and my name came up. I want to thank that teacher in high school who told me to stop swimming to focus on school bc swimming wouldn’t get me anywhere. This is what dreams are made of.

Hey kilian jornet! Have you found a pair of light rock shoes that pack well in a small bag for run->climb adventures? My TC pros are overkill for a lot of easy alpine rock routes and don't pack very well. Suggestions?

Last summer I had the honour of visiting Edziza Provincial Park in Northern BC with Eric Carter for an Arc'teryx project - I shared some thoughts on the trip in a blog post here. It is a truly stunning part of the world: blog.arcteryx.com/searching-for-…

Not what I would call your average May ski day. NE Arrete of Wedge Mountain with Eric Carter - 30 to 50cms of pow and cold temps until noon meant a lot of trail breaking. Things will likely go nuclear with the warming temps up high but that was a mighty fine morning!

Had a great time climbing and skiing the Fuhrer Finger to the summit of Tahoma (Mt Rainier) and down to the Nisqually Bridge - an 11,000 foot ski descent with Arc'teryx team Eric Carter & athlete manager Justin Sweeny - a memorable line and experience for my first volcano ski!

One of those great days out with ⁦Eric Carter⁩ yesterday on the Green Creek Circuit down in Washington - 26km and 2500m of mostly 4th/5th class terrain. An awesome time in the hills in a very beautiful area

This is a friendly reminder that we're now past our climatological warmest part of the year and normal temperatures have begun their downward trend. It's all downhill from here and soon the snowflakes will be flying again. 🙂 #miwx

Warm day out there with Eric Carter - a nice & long walk to Opal Cone, a rare local named peak he hadn’t been to. Also a bonus crater rim circumnavigation which added some novelty to the ski

What do ski mountaineering and freeride have in common? A lot more than @skiericcarter and Tom Peiffer originally thought. The Arc'teryx film "Unlikely Duo" explores how different ski disciplines actually bring us together ➡️ freeskier.com/videos/unlikel… // #FREESKIER #ThisIsSkiing
