I still feel in denial of this sad loss, but I'm grateful for such a wonderful tribute. My memories of convos with Rob are filled with his inspiring comments and witty remarks on research and random things in life. The influence of his scholarship and mentorship is everywhere.

And Ananda Martin-Caughey is on the job market!! I had the extreme pleasure of working with Ananda on multiple projects and advising her dissertation. Her work is innovative and rigorous. Check out her website: amartincaughey.com. Hire Ananda!

This morning, my husband, an econometrician, checked his phone and said, 3 economists won the Nobel and we both know their work. I, a sociologist, immediately guessed three names. All were correct. Apparently the overlap between econometrics and sociology is mostly harmless.

I'm truly honored and excited to be part of this amazing program. Can't wait to work more closely with my mentors Pat Sharkey and Elise Cappella (Elise Cappella) to study communities, connectedness, and what we can do to reduce youth inequality in the coming years!

Recent paper in Soc Methodology with my amazing coauthors Ananda Martin-Caughey and Andrew Levine! We move beyond the occupation-level analysis and show that economic polarization can and should be analyzed at the individual level.
