The Union That Never Was: Fact-Checking HSM on Somaliland: When asked in Washington about Somaliland, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud fell back on the same old script: a supposed 1960 union, the idea of “one people,” colonial borders, clan divisions, and the claim that Mogadishu

Ming Campbell was a dedicated public servant and a true Liberal giant. His principled leadership opposing the Iraq War was a mark of his morality, courage and wisdom. But more than that, he was an incredibly warm and caring friend and colleague. We will miss him terribly.

With the loss of our own Ming Campbell, we are mourning a liberal giant. A full life across the sports track, the court room, the Commons and the Lords, Ming was a champion of Scotland, the UK and the world through his work and endeavours. We will miss him hugely. Salutes.

Och. Ming Campbell. He was what politicians used to be - full of integrity, grit and with a good sense of humour. A really lovely man and a good contact who always had time for you. He was one of the only sane people I’d chat to in Westminster. Really sad to see him go.
