The retreat of external aid won't necessarily kill popular demands for democratic change, accountability & service delivery. It will make them spontaneous, unorganized, unpredictable & violent as angry citizens take on kleptocratic elites that have no external aid to scapegoat.

One of the greatest attributes and skills one can possess is to be able to FEEL a certain way, THINK a different way from how you feel and ACT completely differently from the way you both feel and think.

The essentiality of Judas for the fulfillment of the ordained prophecy is an important reminder that those who do you wrong or sell you out can unwittingly and unintentionally have tremendous positive value to your fate in the long term.

Never take the friendship, goodwill, kindness, respect & admiration anyone gives you for granted. You are not a celebrity & people are not your fans. It's harder to restore a broken relationship than to start one afresh. Always relate with others genuinely or not at all.

The only way to deal with a bully is to fight back hard. Keeping silent & hoping he/she will only focus on others & never come for you is fruitless. A bully targets everyone who is perceived as unable to fight back. This applies at work, home, foreign relations - to everything.

There's no expectation that you speak out for those facing injustice, exploitation & suffering, when to do so puts you or those you care for in harm's way.But to remain silent when you can ACTUALLY speak is morally reprehensible when the oppressed, exploited & abused can't speak.

Fixing historical inequality & injustice requires far more than legal & policy frameworks that decree equality. There has to be unashamed & deliberate action to expedite equalization - the scale has to be deliberately & intentionally tilted in favour of the historically excluded.

Is it even constitutional to pass a Zimbabwean law that is not subject to existing Zimbabwean law and Zimbabwean courts? There's simply no limit to the levels of illegality & unconstitutionality.

You can't be anti-colonial & pro-African liberation, invoking & celebrating Gadade & Mbuya Nehanda on one hand. And, on the other hand, want to completely erase the fact Zimbabwe had King Lobhengula & Munhumutapa, who have descendents. You're erasing your own people like Rhodes.

One of the truest measures of just and inclusive societies is not that they strive to forcibly make everyone the same but that they value, affirm and treat different people and groups- by race, gender, ethnicity, religion et al equally.

Whatever point is being proved - whether to punish him or scare others - the continued incarceration & persecution of Blessed Dhara Blessed Mhlanga HSTV is unconstitutional, unlawful & unjust. He hasn't committed any crime. Journalism isn't a crime. He must be released now. #FreeBlessedMhlanga

The Zimbabwe Local Govt Ministry must just calm down. No one is trying to replace govt with kings from the pre-colony. That obviously can't/won't happen. But any attempt to suppress any public debate recognition or support of pre-colonial kings or chiefs is destined to backfire.

Identity & difference are always instrumentalized & weaponised by rogue politicians the world over. It's an age-old strategy. It manifests in priviledge for one group & exclusion & marginalisation of others. At worst, it culminates in genocide or the annihilation of other groups.
