Never take the friendship, goodwill, kindness, respect & admiration anyone gives you for granted. You are not a celebrity & people are not your fans. It's harder to restore a broken relationship than to start one afresh. Always relate with others genuinely or not at all.

The only way to deal with a bully is to fight back hard. Keeping silent & hoping he/she will only focus on others & never come for you is fruitless. A bully targets everyone who is perceived as unable to fight back. This applies at work, home, foreign relations - to everything.

There's no expectation that you speak out for those facing injustice, exploitation & suffering, when to do so puts you or those you care for in harm's way.But to remain silent when you can ACTUALLY speak is morally reprehensible when the oppressed, exploited & abused can't speak.

Fixing historical inequality & injustice requires far more than legal & policy frameworks that decree equality. There has to be unashamed & deliberate action to expedite equalization - the scale has to be deliberately & intentionally tilted in favour of the historically excluded.

The Zimbabwe Local Govt Ministry must just calm down. No one is trying to replace govt with kings from the pre-colony. That obviously can't/won't happen. But any attempt to suppress any public debate recognition or support of pre-colonial kings or chiefs is destined to backfire.

Identity & difference are always instrumentalized & weaponised by rogue politicians the world over. It's an age-old strategy. It manifests in priviledge for one group & exclusion & marginalisation of others. At worst, it culminates in genocide or the annihilation of other groups.
