Shame on President Donald J. Trump and U.S. Department of Education for kowtowing to the loan servicers. Borrowers had NO say in which FFEL loans were taken over by govt and which were left behind with lenders. Now half of FFEL borrowers don’t get the benefits. Shame! FFEL lenders have shown their true colors. Instead of working in the interest of student loan borrowers – their customers – these lenders are holding hostage relief from millions in order to keep making a buck off of suffering.

Commercial FFEL lenders are colluding with Republican AGs to thwart student debt relief. I'm still hoping U.S. Department of Education figures out a solution, but this is potentially devastating news for borrowers who couldn't, or didn't, consolidate before yesterday. politico.com/news/2022/09/2…

Secretary Miguel Cardona Easy as 1-2-3 as long as you haven’t been paying for your FFEL loans for 20 years that got sent to navient without your consent. Apparently we should have known that the deadline was yesterday by our psychic abilities since it wasn’t announced until it was too late.
