This is the saddest news... RIP lovely, brilliant Kavita Singh who always dazzled jaipurlitfest with her fabulous insights to Mughal painting and did so much to educate us all on obscure recesses of Indian art history. What an irreplaceable loss!

In 2017, Kavita Singh gave a talk at Columbia on Holocaust museums and the struggle to create collective memory. Her work grounded so much of my writing on the politics of memory. She was erudite, sharp and incredibly generous with her time and scholarship. Rest in peace.

I deeply mourn the sad & untimely demise of Kavita Singh at the age of 58. She was professor of art history & served as the Dean at the School of Arts & Aesthetics of Jawaharlal Nehru University. I have learned a great deal from her works on the museums. routledge.com/No-Touching-No…

This is Prof. Kavita Singh at SAA's 2018 Aakrosh Dharna, after her removal from the post of SAA's Dean by the-then VC, following their fightback against the imposition of CCS Rules. Art historian, writer, teacher, fighter. #RestinPower

Learned a devastating news that our colleague Prof Kavita Singh passed away. Too early! A brilliant scholar, fine human being and someone who stood up to the tyranny during dark moments of JNU crisis. RIP

Sad news about the passing of art historian Kavita Singh came in this evening. Hear this interview that Raghu Karnad did with her, four years ago after she won the Infosys Prize. RIP. youtube.com/watch?v=nu2iSn…

Will miss the erudition of Prof. Kavita Singh – took multiple classes with her on Mughal miniatures and Museum Studies and a memorable fieldtrip to Agra at SAA. She taught us to read widely, critically and with joy. Rest in Power.
