We need some honesty in this debate In £ right now, fossil fuels (gas in the UK) is the cheapest form of secure electricity. I believe the long term costs are catastrophic in terms of climate change and we must move to stop burning gas, but renewables add cost right now.

This is simply untrue. Burning fossil fuels has high costs in terms of climate change in my view - but for pure £ cost right now, fossil fuels are cheap. We need honestly in this debate - sadly the government is lacking it right now.

This is really dangerous reporting, and shows we need some truth and balance in this debate. I support the renewable transition - but it will cost £ today. This reports claims a net cost benefit from wind - but excludes balancing, transmission and intermittency costs…!
