If the child on the left was old enough to pick cotton and the child on the right was old enough to attend Klan rallies, then today's children are old enough to learn about both of these and how they've led us to where we are today.

In the U.S., I joined a long line of inv journos & activists hunted by gov’t & locked up 4 overtly political reasons. When I share truth, it is bc it is too horrible to ignore. I don’t do so joyfully, esp where #Peltier is concerned. An 80-yr-old man has bn horribly manipulated.

Respectable lives & careers are built on consistency, real accomplishments, keeping one’s word & veracity. Adolescence is the time to test out the karma of slander so those mistakes aren’t made in adulthood. The loudest & meanest voice is the bully. But truth is what gets heard.

I finally reached the point in my exile where a prisoner’s “happy holidays” greeting left me scratching my head. What holiday? It took until today 4 me to remember my least favorite US holiday. I give thanks on a daily basis. But I’ve always refused the myth of Thanksgiving.

How are you liking #Bluesky? That’s where many of the ppl I respect most have gone, leaving this cesspool of whyte nationalism & fake news. I’ll genuinely miss the good ppl I met here, but I’m not down w/ kicking it with the billionaire propagandist of the Trump dictatorship.

Over the decades I’ve “toured” countless jails & prisons. At CCWF, a woman prisoner was placed in a tiny cell on the concrete floor, awaiting solitary. Her eyes were filled w/ pure pain & shame. I was filled with rage. I wanted to scream: “the shame is not YOURS to bear.”

American prisons, more than any other creation of a society gone horribly wrong, are the windows into the soul of an endlessly cruel & isolationist empire. Their innards digest human minds & bodies and spew out broken souls.

These, then, are among my very last posts here. I am grateful for the camaraderie I experienced from those of you who’ve lived, as I have, with the knowledge that all is not well in societies that reward wealth, narcissism, cruelty & greed above all. Seek a higher truth. 💜🥀✊🏽🙏🏾
