Yesterday morning, the US delegation met with Preeti Sawhney and Michael Padua, the Indian and American representatives in The Law Society. They had an interesting dicussion about the work of The Law Society on the international stages and barriers faced by lawyers after Brexit.

Talbir Singh KC, Sapandeep Singh Maini-Thompson, Baldip Singh, Jo Sidhu KC, and Manjit Gill KC of No5 Barristers'​ Chambers hosted the US delegation and guest speaker the Rt. Hon Lord Justice Singh. Lord Justice Singh discussed his efforts to promote diversity from the bench.

No5 Chambers was delighted to host the US Bar and Bench delegation led by The Hon. Judge Manpreet Singh as part of the Sikhs in Law exchange programme.

Lord Hodge of the Supreme Court hosted the delegation on a tour and they had an interesting discussion on similarities and differences between the UK and US legislative system and Supreme Courts. They compared the judicial selection processes including promoting diversity.

Yesterday afternoon the delegation were hosted by Lord Sahota at the House of Lords. They were able to tour Parliament and joined Lord Sahota for lunch after.

This morning the delegation met with the Chair of the Bar Council, Sam Townsend KC and Adviser Piran Dhillon-Starkings, where they held an insightful discussion on the work of the Bar Council. In addition they discussed barriers to entry and efforts to address diversity.

This afternoon Ryan Kohli Bencher at the Inner Temple and the Sub Treasurer Greg Dorey hosted the US delegation. Baldip Singh MCIArb and and Master Kohli demonstrated the Hample Advocacy Method. It ended with discourse on the bar and the progress it still needs to make.
