An Irish welcome from Eastbank Academy Drama to get me through the week! Very glad that I have joined the Modern Languages Department (EastbankML) at Eastbank Academy - can’t wait to teach some Spanish to all of my lovely classes🇪🇸🥘💃 (spot some pupil work from Holyrood Secondary!)

1S2 completed a quiz today all about Spanish culture to start them off with their new Spanish course. Not only that, but our two secret students won a prize today for showing kindness, respect, responsibility and ambition in class - all of our values at Eastbank Academy!🇪🇸❤️

The Relaxation Station is in full flow for #europeandayoflanguages 🙏🏼💙. We start each session with a compliment circle, learning some health food vocab, a tasty health shot and finally some mindfulness colouring!

We loved having Russ Cook visit Lourdes RC Secondary this week to talk to S5 about his incredible run across Africa. A real inspirational figure and a top guy who made time for pupils and teachers alike. Thanks also to the talented Georgia Dunn who photographed the event 📷

What a fantastic class! 1D2 have been learning all about birthdays in Spanish. This week, they spoke only in Spanish to ask and answer when their birthdays were - then they put themselves in order based on when their birthday falls! ¡Buen trabajo!🇪🇸🎉🎁

The lovely 1D2 have started their L3, and the class are learning Italian! Finalmente! My lovely S1 completed a survey completed in Italian to practice asking and answering their name and age. Bravissimi! 🇮🇹❤️🤩 (don’t mind Bella Ciao playing in the background! lol)

The lovely 1S2 were preparing research questions today all about Italy. They’re preparing ahead for a call with an Italian expert who produces his own wine, olive oil and who learnt Italian through cassette tapes 25 years ago - my dad! As you can see they’re over the moon!❤️🤩🇮🇹

1S2 finally had their long awaited phone call with my Italian expert dad! They prepared their research questions, and received some meaningful answers that gave them an insight into Italian culture. Grazie mille babbo! 🇮🇹❤️

¡Buen trabajo! The new S3 Spanish class are making headway in our final term. They’re revising their basics before starting their N5 Spanish course, so of course we had to do a survey (accompanied by Mario Kart music lol) 🇪🇸 📚 ✏️
