I am thrilled to join the faculty at CMU physics in 6/2022. A unique opportunity to be a colleague of biophysicists in there! Thank all who helped me, and special thanks to my postdoc advisors 🦋Suckjoon Jun's lab @ Physics, UC San Diego and Lisa Racki, and my PhD advisor Sean Sun for walking me through this!

The lab’s first preprint is out! This manuscript is the result of a great collaboration with Jamie Williamson . Congrats to authors Ravi Chawla, Steven Klupt, and Vadim Patsalo. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

How does polyphosphate affect the biophysical properties of starved cells? See our work, a great collaboration w/ Suliana Manley 🔬🗜🧫 about how polyP tunes cytoplasmic+nucleoid dynamics. Congrats Sofia Magkiriadou, Amanda Habel, Willi L Stepp, + Dianne Newman. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Woot! Our paper on cholesterol distribution in asymmetric membranes, spearheaded by Malavika Varma (not on Twitter 😭) is online in Biophysical Journal! Obviously, time for a Tweetorial! Article Link (Free for 50 days!): authors.elsevier.com/a/1fb4h1SPT0F0Z 1/21

Welcome to our new grad students [amateur photographer may have cut off one] (+ 2 of our new faculty members). Wonderful to have you all on board! Feel free to identify yourselves: Markus Deserno Fangwei Si ...

Thrilled to share our new preprint on how bacterial cells regulate size and growth in fluctuating environments, led by graduate student Josiah Kratz CMU Biological Sciences biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Thread below👇

Unique opportunity to meet at Carnegie Mellon University and discuss how digital minds can help us study biophysics & quantitative biology. More info: cmu.edu/ai-physics-ins…

The biophysics&quantitaive biology at Carnegie Mellon University is in the exponential growth phase! Please spread the word! apply.interfolio.com/113740

Lauryn is a junior student, but she is the most senior member in our lab as one of the lab founders! CMU Physics CMU Mellon College of Science
