It's worth saying again: It doesn't change the bombs or the imperial power structure. But SNL allowing (or not cutting via 7-second delay) the words 'Free the people of Palestine,' and the SNL audience bursting into applause, is a sea change in the popular American discourse.

Let me tell you what New Yorker would do, they would chant, “free Palestine”. They would say that for peace to come oppression, genocide and colonialism has to go.

Israel creates “kill zones”. They’re invisible lines unknown to Palestinians.

Any Palestinian crossing these lines is killed & added to Israel’s tally of “terrorists killed”.

Except they’re often civilians looking for their families & homes.
