Check out the upcoming talk from Experiments in Fluids Seminar Series Springer Nature presented by Mr. Shubham Sharma SHUBHAM SHARMA, a PhD scholar from our lab. 🗓️ Tuesday 4th Apr 2023 ⏲️ 7:30 PM (Asia/Calcutta) Link: cassyni.com/events/BKxnzHX… #Research #Experiment #ImageProcessing

PRFluids Editors' Suggestion: Vortex rings are way more than just aesthetically pleasing. Here, Jain et al. at Prof. Basu's lab (Prof. Saptarshi Basu) show that, with enough strength, they can be exploited to clean oil-impregnated porous surfaces. See here go.aps.org/41ryrTh.

Good use for smoke rings (but not with smoke): The rotational motion of this type of vortex can make it a powerful cleaner. IISc Bangalore physics.aps.org/articles/v16/61

Our work 'Vortical cleaning of oil-impregnated porous surfaces' will be featuring in the journal club series launched by Physical Review Fluids that highlights important papers published in the journal. Magazine: physics.aps.org/articles/v16/61 Doi: doi.org/10.1103/PhysRe… Prof. Saptarshi Basu

Our recent work titled 'Shock-induced aerobreakup of a polymeric droplet' on the cover page of Journal of Fluid Mechanics. Congratulations to the team.

Graphical abstract from our recent publication is now featured as a front cover in Journal of Fluid Mechanics. Here, we see the stabilising role of elasticity against capillary breakup of viscoelastic ligaments. Polymeric droplet reaches to this state after interacting with a shock wave.

Our work on shock-metal droplet titled 'Shock induced atomisation of a liquid metal droplet' will appear in the Journal of Fluid Mechanics soon. This brings closure to a series of our manuscripts on the topic shock-droplet studies. Brilliant video by SHUBHAM SHARMA and Navin Chandra

Check out our new work titled 'Shock-induced atomisation of a liquid metal droplet' published in Journal of Fluid Mechanics. Here we show the dynamics of interaction between shock and liquid metal droplets. cambridge.org/core/journals/…
