The beauty of track and field is there's no faking it, no hiding behind teammates on rough days. You're exposed, vulnerable. It's you, alone, out on that track. This sport will humble you, even those who are among the top in the world.

Its so tempting to push harder in training in hope of progression. There are many distance runners working really hard but stagnant or going backwards in career. IMO consistent volume + broken sub threshold + relaxed WOs @ various paces + racing is great recipe for progression!

Yesterday at the Lanphier invite, former Lanphier track head coach Mike Garcia got to see Memorial stadium in all of its glory hosting a quality track meet. Video board was rolling, meet was fast, timers were great and it was a beautiful day. Coach Garcia dreamed of the day

🚨REALITY🚨 Running D1 track is going to be come almost impossible with the roster limits. D2/D3 will become significantly more competitive. Walking on won’t be so easy anymore. Look everywhere, get your grades right, get your times right!
