માત્ર 25 વર્ષની ઉંમરે, સૌથી વધુ લીડવાળી યુવા ઉમેદવાર અલીનગર (Alinagar) બેઠકને વર્ષોથી RJD નો ગઢ માનવામાં આવતો હતો. અહીં ભાજપનો વિજયનો રેકોર્ડ શૂન્ય હતો. મૈથિલી ઠાકુરે આ બેઠક પર ભાજપના ઈતિહાસમાં પ્રથમ જીત નોંધાવી, જે માત્ર તેમની નહીં પણ પક્ષ માટે પણ એક મોટી ઐતિહાસિક સફળતા છે.

बिहार में NDA की अप्रत्याशित जीत के पीछे सिर्फ Conspiracy theories खोजने की बजाए विपक्ष को आत्मचिंतन करने की ज़रूरत है. वोट चोरी करके और चुनाव मैनेज करके कुछ सीटें भले ही दाएं -बाएं हो सकती हैं लेकिन ऐसी रिकॉर्ड तोड़ जीत नहीं हो सकती . बहुत बारीक अध्ययन और विश्लेषण की जरूरत है .
