Kashmir doesn't belong to Pakistan or India - it belongs to the Kashmiris who bleed while we bicker. We sleep peacefully in our capitals while they wake up to gunfire every day. Let them be free. Let them breathe. Let them finally know peace. They've suffered enough.

It's crazy that it needs to be said. Indian is a nationality. Tamil/Malayali/Telugu/Kannadiga/Bengali/Punjabi/Kashmiri/Marathi are all ethnicities. If you leave this country and settle elsewhere, your nationality is gone. You're Australian/Kiwi/Brit etc but still your ethnicity.

For my latest Prism article, I spoke to teachers in New England who described uncertainty about the potential impact of Trump’s directive to eliminate DEI in public schools, especially on immigrant and low-income students prismreports.org/2025/05/19/dei

"The Pitt" star Supriya Ganesh on using she/they pronouns: "Even though I feel like I identify more with femininity, that doesn’t mean I always fit into a very Western idea of it. That’s part of why I made that decision. It also feels like a bit of a shout-out — like, 'Hey, I’m

This is your reminder that disabled people were legally prohibited from being in public from the 1860s until the last “Ugly Law” was struck down In Illinois in 1974. Also important to note is the Ugly Laws were put in place at the same time as the Industrial Revolution.

we are reliving the era when newsrooms are almost entirely white and great journalists of color, particularly black and brown journalists, are moving into their blog era. this should be concerning for anyone even a little invested in honest, well-reported journalism.
