So thrilled to be speaking at the upcoming Promise Conference alongside some incredible minds, shaping the conversation around human rights, environmental protection and climate justice. Such an honour to be part of such a pivotal event! lnkd.in/dXz47kjQ Island Policy Lab at the University of Delaware

This true hits home ... I spent a very memorable part of my life in Merida... the city was pretty much defined in many ways by the glaciers ... such an incredibly huge loss - at multiple levels

Which scientists told him this? ⬇️What did they study? Science fiction? Just to make it clear, yes, the rich have to give up their high energy consumptive and wasteful life style. That’s what the science I and thousands of other IPCC scientists assessed says.

Small Islands do have a CHRONIC data paucity problem ... and no /little data = too few research publications = under-representation within key global reports (eg IPCC) = audience misinterpretation that many impacts are not as severe or pervasive as we on the ground have observed

The kid on the left should have kept it all to maximise her self-interest, & the kid on the right should have been inspired by inequality to aspire higher or be resigned to acceptance, not given a handout. Why do kids keep on failing this economics test?

Shobha Maharaj (@shobha_maharaj) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Yes definitely! Language def matters! A bit off tangent from the stakeholder discussion - but another good colonial eg: 'Small Island States' Who coined this? And why not 'Large Ocean States' instead?

Dr. Aditi Mukherji (@aditimukherji) 's Twitter Profile Photo

If true, this is a huge set back. All pathways to a 1.5-2 degree requires land and oceans to be net sinks — at higher levels emissions, ability of the land to absorb CO2 declines or becomes non existent! We know effectivessness of adaptation declines too.

An unprecedented number of 62 written comments filed at CIJ_ICJ in the climate change advisory proceedings: shorturl.at/uBcio These submissions themselves are already a significant contribution to international law on climate change and State responsibility.

Prof Lisa Schipper 🌎 ✊ Adaptation isn't a choice for many; it's a necessity. Workers still need to go out even during heatwaves, farmers must resow after losing crops to floods. For them, getting on with life is survival. Adaptation is imperfect, but it's essential when the alternative is unthinkable.
