Reported musty tasting water to Uisce Éireann - Irish Water for investigation #Glanmire #Glashaboy supply. Neighbours have same concern and you can see in supermarkets lots more bottled water being bought than would be normal.

An outcrop of the rare and threatened Killarney fern in Killarney National Park. This is a rainforest plant, which relies on deep shade and near constant moisture.

It feels like we are beating our heads against a stone coffee table but a good way of ensuring kids don't just get exposed to celebrity-written #books they see opposite the meal-deal shelf is to ensure all #schools have a #library and #librarian with a healthy budget.

A teacher crisis, with many contributing factors, but surely the fact that you must be Catholic, and have a special certificate in teaching faith formation, is an obstacle the department needs to remove instagram.com/p/DBYjxreMeZK/…

CALLING ALL AUTHORS.I don't know who's left out there to read this but I'm a CAMHS mental health support worker. The children's ward I support in Sussex is among the most underfunded in the country & I'd love to boost their library. If any of you could donate a copy of your book-

I think frequently of something my smart librarian friend once said — if school libraries didn’t work, private schools wouldn’t pay for them. A lack of a funded school library for every school and the cutting of libraries around the country is such a factor here.

My ten-year-old son has been told by his teachers that he can't take comics or manga in to read as they "aren't proper books" and they "won't help him develop his reading skills". Like, WTAF? This is why children fall out of love with reading, and it's utterly heartbreaking.

🚨 If you’re away from home for work or study on November 29th, you only have until Sunday (so, in practice, Friday!) to apply for a postal vote. Form PV4 (checktheregister.ie/en-IE/forms) needs signature by an employer/college/school, and sent in hard copy to your city/co council.
