So many people are quick to think injustice happens somewhere else or only in the “media”. But there’s a likely a whole dumpster fire happening right in our backyards, if we’d be willing to notice.

Reminder: Southwest Airlines accepted $3.2 BILLION from taxpayers. That money kept its pilots employed during the pandemic. It also made Southwest Airlines the first airline to post a profit. And now, apparently, many of those pilots don’t want to help society by getting vaccinated.

Congrats to the team at #HLTH2021 for stepping up months ago to make an in-person event with 6K people possible. Vaccines required. Tests onsite. Masks on. Imagine where we’d be if this was the overwhelming narrative in the U.S.

Also important though are the attitudinal findings which offer insight a layer beneath eg "unvaccinated people who nonetheless wore masks... more likely to be Black women. Those... neither vaccinated nor masked more likely to be Republicans,... rural, less educated and white."
