A Sherman BARV (beach armoured recovery vehicle) in service a few days after D-Day. Around 60 M4A2s were converted in this manner and were used to keep the beaches unobstructed. The "Spanish flag" on the side is actually blue, yellow and red, the colours of the REMEngineer Corps.
