Our work, which shows the first P-center that can activate the H-H bond through an oxidative addition type reaction and be used for catalytic hydrogenation—unprecedented for single main group centers—is now published in Nature Chemistry. doi.org/10.1038/s41557…
Just out as an accepted article in Angewandte Chemie: a great collaboration with AK Gschwind, The Wolf Group, Jens Beckmann & Peter Coburger. If you're interested in the "hows" and "whys" of P4 chemistry you may want to give this one a look. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.10…
Thrilled to bits to see this out, my first corresponding author publication. Thanks to Sam Neale Dr Claire McMullin Mary Mahon and of course Big Mike for helping make this happen Chemical Communications pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Arguably the coolest chemistry we’ve uncovered yet ChemRxiv, especially given that it’s with just one metal!! 🤯Fantastic work by Stas Melnikovᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠ and first of many collabs with Baik Group | Hydride as a Leaving Group in Nucleophilic Aromatic Substitution | - go.shr.lc/3ycdkeL
Really nice to see all of Dr Jack Baldwin 's hard work over the last four years all starting to emerge. If you like the big ligand in this paper please also check out the lovely work by Debbie Kays group investigating its d-block chemistry: chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxi…
New HOT article from Michael Hill, @ClaireMcMullin, @Murcoswift, Kyle Pearce and Sam Neale at Chemistry@Bath Uni 'Pathway to a molecular calcium methyl' 🔥 #OpenAccess 🔓 buff.ly/4fnzzzg
Happy to share our latest study on the interaction of our beloved linear iron(I) silylamide with organo (iso) nitriles. Finally finished a job my first phd student started years ago thanks Igor). Thanks also to Killian and Christian Limberg. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
Today we highlight two more outstanding groups in the UK in 3d TM research, starting with Debbie Kays at Cardiff. Another outstanding collaborator with some awesome iron chemistry for CO scission/homologation. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…
For day 3 of our tour of UK 3d TM molecular chemistry, we highlight the work of David Nelson Dr David Nelson at Strathclyde in Ni chemistry. They have a lot of fun Ni cross-coupling work including the following in Chem. Sci. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…
For our second highlight of iron research in the UK today we turn to Darren Willcox at Manchester. Some cool iron-borane complexes for hydroboration as exemplified by their recent work in Chem. Commun. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…
