So pleased several Committee bills benefiting children and families made it into law this session. It takes a village, and I am so appreciative of everyone who worked in support of these bills.

Yesterday Gov. McMaster signed S.142 (Shealy), a Children's Committee bill which added protections for minor trafficking victims so they cannot be prosecuted for non-violent crimes committed as a direct result of or related to being trafficked.

The Committee's bills are on the move! The Committee worked closely with Alan Wilson and S.C. Dept. of Children’s Advocacy to develop these bills aimed at protecting SC children and improving child-related government processes and procedures. We appreciate their input and work on these issues.
