Some professional news: I've been named a professor of practice School of Civic & Economic Thought & Leadership where I'll teach online courses in the history of political thought (esp re women) and officially launch the new Mercy Otis Warren Initiative for Women in Civic Life and Thought - scetl.asu.edu/mercy

I'm truly honored to have received one of this year's Academic Prizes from Heritage Foundation, and I'm very grateful for this additional support of my work.

A close to final (and significantly revised) version of my article, Constitutional Rights as Protected Reasons, is now up on SSRN. Thanks to the many friends & colleagues who have made the article immeasurably better with their generous input. UChicago Law Review dx.doi.org/10.2139/ssrn.4…

I'll be a speaker for an ABA webinar tomorrow at noon about the Supreme Court's recent religious liberty rulings. Feel free to join in online! Register HERE ➡️ ow.ly/2RRy50Wgfak ABA Section of Civil Rights and Social Justice

This is horrible news. Dick Fallon was a true “gentleman and a scholar” to whom the Constitution Center Center awarded its 2d Thomas Cooley Book Prize. He was an extraordinarily thoughtful scholar. This is a huge loss to the world of constitutional law and to anyone who knew him.

New Paper with William Baude , forthcoming in the Yale Journal of Law & the Humanities: "Yes, The Framers Were Originalists" A critical review of Jonathan Gienapp (Jonathan Gienapp)'s Against Constitutional Originalism. SSRN link below, and comments welcome!

Really lovely tribute to Dick Fallon written by Lawrence Solum.

Important new article by my friend, Luke Goodrich, about the future of constitutional protections for religious hiring beyond the ministerial exception. Highly recommended! Nᴏᴛʀᴇ Dᴀᴍᴇ L. Rᴇᴠ.
